Insurance & paying

Does insurance cover this?

IEHP is accepted for covered services, and there is a sliding fee scale for clients paying cash. Here is what each of those means before you call.

If you have IEHP

Yes — we take IEHP

We accept IEHP for covered services. That holds at all 6 of our offices, in Murrieta, Riverside, Yucaipa and Hemet.

What we cannot tell you from a web page is whether your particular plan covers a particular service, or what your share of it is. Call the office with your member ID and we will check that with you before you come in.

Before your first visit

  • Your IEHP member ID, if you have coverage through IEHP.
  • If you are paying yourself, the sliding scale application — available at the front desk, or downloadable below.
  • One proof-of-income document, if you are applying for the sliding scale (see the list below).

If you are paying yourself

The sliding fee scale

To make available discount services to those in need. It is for people who are uninsured or underinsured, and eligibility is based on income and family size only.

At or below 100% of the poverty line

A full discount. A small fixed nominal charge applies per visit — it is not a minimum fee, and nobody is turned away over it.

Above 100%, up to 200%

You are charged according to the sliding fee schedule, which is updated each year from the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Either way

No one is refused service because of a lack of money to pay. That is the policy’s own sentence, and it is what the front desk works to.

What to bring

One of these is enough. If you cannot provide one, tell the front desk why — the policy allows a signed statement in special circumstances.

  • Last year’s W-2
  • Your two most recent pay stubs
  • A letter from your employer
  • Form 4506-T, if a W-2 was not filed
  • If you are self-employed: three months of business income and expenses

Apply

Download the application, fill it in, and bring it to your first visit — or ask for one at the front desk, where staff can help you complete it.

The program’s full written policy — how a decision is made, how you are told, and how to reapply — is printed in full on Start Here , together with the session fees for paying out of pocket.

Paying out of pocket

If you are not using insurance and not applying for the sliding scale, our session fees are published in one place — the same page the office confirms them from.
